The purpose of this document is to identify what you, as a customer, can expect from Galaxy and our window covering suppliers. It will also identify items you should look for in purchasing your new window coverings
Fabricator's Warranty
All of the window covering fabricators used by Galaxy carry a lifetime limited warranty of some type. This warranty is extended to the original purchaser and warrants the blind(s) are free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and as long as the product remains in the original window. This warranty extends only to the original purchaser of the product. Wood blinds in many cases only carry a 5 year warranty. Strings used to operate your new window coverings carry a 1 year limited warranty.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or any damage caused by accidents; alterations; misuse, abuse or extraordinary use; exposure to salt air; insect damage; improper installation; cleaning or other maintenance. Warranties shall cease to be in effect if a product has been moved from its original place of installation. All fabrics and woods will gradually lose color intensity after long exposure to the sun. This color loss is not covered by the warranty. When left for extended periods in direct sunlight, plastics tend to yellow or crack.
All cords eventually wear out. This is considered to be normal wear and tear and are not covered by the manufacture's warranty.
Warranties do not cover removal, re-installation or shipping costs.
Trip charges and shipping costs will apply after 1 year from your initial installation.
Galaxy's Warranty
The window covering products that Galaxy sells are of the highest quality in the industry. We do not sell "Seconds" or "Low End" products. With proper use they will provide many years of dependable, trouble free service.
Galaxy will guarantee your custom window coverings properly fit the window in which it is intended to cover and will operate to your satisfaction. The installation of your window coverings will meet the highest standards of the industry and are guaranteed for a period of 1 year from the date of installation.
If a problem arises within the 1st YEAR of service, from the initial installation of your new window coverings, Galaxy will repair your new coverings at no cost to you. We have been trained by the factory to repair many of these problems. Every attempt will be made to fix the problem in your home, however, in some cases your blind may have to be returned to the factory for repairs. These repairs do not include damage caused from customer neglect.
After the 1st year, Galaxy will charge a $55.00 trip charge to come on-site to repair/adjust your window coverings. If parts fail due to faulty manufacturing, you will not be charged for the parts.
It is the customer's responsibility to pay for any repairs, shipping costs & re-installation costs after the 1st year.Repairs caused by customer neglect will be charged a minimum trip charge of $55.00 plus parts.
Customer's Responsibility
Window coverings, floor coverings, furniture, tile, counter tops, etc. come in many different colors and styles. Many of these colors have been chosen by you as your home was being built or remodeled. As a consumer, it is your responsibility to choose the colors that best fit your personal tastes. This is why Galaxy will leave sample books for you to browse through at your leisure.
Galaxy and our fabricators will NOT assume responsibility for your color selection. In the event you choose a product and do not like it because of color, fabric style or product, Galaxy cannot take this covering back or give full credit for the product. We will work with you financially to replace the product. Keep in mind this may add additional expense to you, the consumer. Make sure of your color selection and fabric style prior to ordering any products!
Customer is responsible for providing a clear access to any window which we will be installing a window covering. Because of the liability in moving furniture, plants, TV's, toys etc., Galaxy cannot and will not move anything under any circumstance.
Payment
Custom window coverings are fabricated to fit your windows. Once the coverings are fabricated it is unlikely they could be used in another customer's home. Once an order is placed with a fabricator it cannot be canceled without paying a fee. This usually amounts to 50% of the order total. This is why Galaxy requests a 50% deposit at the time of the order. Deposits are can be made using cash, personal check or a pre-approved 90 Day Same-As-Cash loan provided by a financial institution.
Final payment for the window coverings is expected when the window coverings are installed. If any coverings need to be repaired or replaced, you are not expected to make final payment until the defective coverings are replaced.
Invoices not paid within 30 days of completion of installation or repairs will be assessed interest at 2% per month on the unpaid balance and a $50.00 per month re-billing fee will be added.
